29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(12): Ladders used where the employee or the ladder could contact exposed energized electrical equipment did not have nonconductive siderails: (a) On November 30, 2012, at a jobsite located on the corner of W 73rd St and Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO., employees engaged in Re-Roofing work on a steep pitched roof were exposed to serious electrical shock hazards, in that a Portable Aluminum Ladder had been placed within inches of a power line service feed line that was attached to the NE Corner of the home. Abatement certification for this violation is not required.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On November 30, 2012, at a jobsite located on the corner of W 73rd St and Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO., Five employees engaged in Re-Roofing work on a steep pitched roof were exposed to serious fall hazards, in that no Fall Protection Equipment or Fall Protection Systems were in use. Employees were exposed to serious injuries from fall hazards ranging from approx. 11 feet up over 20 feet to lower levels. Abatement certification for this violation is not required. EMP CONTRACTORS, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard - 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11) which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 315541383, Citation Number 01, Item Number 002, and was affirmed as a Final Order on September 10, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 4032 Chatham Drive, Lees Summit, MO., and; OSHA Inspection Number 315541409, Citation Number 01, Item Number 003, and was affirmed as a Final Order on September 09, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 6029 Blue Ridge Cutoff, Raytown, MO.

Employees were exposed to serious injuries from fall hazards ranging from approx. 11 feet to approx 17 feet above lower levels. Abatement certification for this violation is not required.
