29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1):     Employees shall be provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents.    a) North side of building #2, on or about November 29, 2012, four employees were observed not wearing eye protection while operating block cutting saws, which exposed the workers to eye injuries from flying debris from cutting concrete blocks.     ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED

29 CFR 1926.451(f)(7):     Scaffolds shall be erected, moved, dismantled, or altered only under the supervision and direction of a competent person qualified in scaffold erection, moving, dismantling or alteration. Such activities shall be performed only by experienced and trained employees selected for such work by the competent person.    a)  At the billboard sign for the complex - on or about December 06, 2012, the tubular welded frame scaffolding that employees work from did not have guardrails, no mud sill, not fully braced and not fully planked, which indicated the competent person was not adequately qualified in the erection, moving, and altering of the scaffold.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE NOT REQUIRED.

29 CFR 1926.451(b)(1):     Each platform on all working levels of scaffolds was not fully planked or decked between the front uprights and the guardrail supports as specified in paragraphs 1926.451(b)(1)(i)-(ii):    a)  At the billboard sign for the complex - on or about December 06, 2012, two employees were exposed to fall hazard while performing work from the 3rd level of a tubular welded frame scaffold.  This section of the scaffold was not fully planked, exposing employees up to a 15-foot fall hazard.    Nation Wide Stucco was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.451(b)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314094921, citation number 1, item 002 and was affirmed as Informal Settlement Agreement on 12/02/2011 with respect to a workplace located at 2947c North Ashley St.,  Valdosta, Georgia.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE NOT REQUIRED.

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1):     Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. The cross braces shall be of such length as will automatically square and align vertical members so that the erected scaffold is always plumb, level, and square.
