29 CFR 1910.178(l)(4)(ii)(D): Refresher training including an evaluation of the effectiveness of that training was not conducted when the operator is assigned to drive a different type of truck: a/ BedBathBeyond/Port Reading NJ Site - Warehouse: Industrial lift truck operators are trained to operate various types of forklift equipment, including but not limited to auto pickers, electric hand jacks (walkie riders), reach swing 30 ft. and reach regular 30 ft., etc. 1/ Refresher training is not provided when an operator has been assigned to use a different lift truck that has not been used on a regular basis. 2/ The "Practicing" procedure provided by the employer and used by operators to get them familiar with a different lift truck is not adequate to ensure that operators are competent to operate that different lift truck safely, in that, because it does not provide refresher training or an evaluation of previous training. 3/ The Practicing operating is not supervised throughout the session.
