29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(iv): Employees shall always stand firmly on the floor of the basket, and shall not sit or climb on the edge of the basket or use planks, ladders, or other devices for a work position. a. Located at the Westerville Square Project, employees were reattaching a section of steel c-channel by welding the channel to a portion of the roof, while decking work was being performed. An employee climbed the guardrails of a JLG scissors lift in order to access the rooftop, thereby exposing the employee to a fall hazard of approximately 25 feet. The Cornerstone Erectors was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(iv) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314937574, citation number 1, item number 1b and was affirmed as a final order on 11/23/2010, with respect to a workplace located at Wooster College Wooster, Ohio 44691. The Cornerstone Erectors was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(iv) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315366971, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 06/14/2011, with respect to a workplace located at Wooster College Wooster, Ohio 44691

29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Except as provided by paragraph (a)(3) of this section, each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level shall be protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems or fall restraint systems. a. Located at the Westerville Square Project, there were three employees installing steel c-channel approximately three feet from the roof's edge, while decking work was being performed without any means of fall protection, thereby exposing the employees to a fall hazard of approximately 25 feet. The Cornerstone Erectors was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.760(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315366971, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 06/14/2011, with respect to a workplace located at Wooster College Wooster, Ohio 44691.
