29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a. On or about November 28, 2012, at the above addressed jobsite, employees working from atop a 16 inch wide parapet wall were exposed to falls of approximately 17 feet 6 inches due to a lack of fall protection. NORTON SONS ROOFING & SHEET METAL COMPANY, INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD ( 1926.501B11), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 311376099, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1, AND WAS AFFIRMED AS FINAL ORDER ON OCTOBER 29, 2008, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 2500 S. EUCLID AVENUE IN CHICAGO HEIGHTS,IL
