29 CFR 1910.37(b)(5): Each doorway or passage along an exit access that could be mistaken for an exit was not marked "Not an Exit" or similar designation, or be identified by a sign indicating its actual use (e.g. closet): a) East side of the Double-Wide Building: Next to the supervisor's desk was a door leading to the outside of the building. The door was no longer used as an exit door and it was locked and the outside steps had been removed, however it could be easily mistaken for an exit door by someone unfamiliar with the area. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.

THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS STANDARD, WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION 311096135, CITATION 1, ITEM 1(a), ISSUED ON 04-26-2012 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKSITE AT 1 FLORETTA PLACE - RALEIGH, N.C.

29 CFR 1910.24(f): Rise height and tread width were not uniform throughout any flight of stairs including any foundation structure used as one or more treads of the stairs: a) West side of the Double-Wide Building addition: A set of wooden job-made stairs placed outside of the exit door were hard to navigate due to each riser being of a different height, and the fourth riser having a base board preventing the full use of the third step. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.
