29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative:         a.  762 W. Ind. Parkway, Winder, GA (Shop Area) - Employees were exposed to chemical and fume hazard. The employer did not develop and implement a written hazard communication program where employees were exposed to hazardous chemicals on the jobsite. The structural steel metal includes, but is not limited to,compressed gas, lubrication fluid, oil, paint primer, alloy steel and carbon steel on which employees are performing grinding, cutting, and welding activities which creates metal fumes due to disturbing the molecules of the steel, on or about 12/10/12.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets:         a.  762 W. Winder Ind. Parkway, Winder, GA (Shop Area) - Employees were exposed to chemical/fume hazard. Employees were not provided with training and information on the types of hazardous fumes from the structural steel/I-beam such as, but not limited to, compressed gas, lubrication fluid, oil, paint primer, alloy steel and carbon steel which employees are performing grinding, cutting and welding activities, and how to be familiar with the Material Safety Data Sheets for the chemicals and metals, on or about 12/10/12.
