29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(iv): There shall be no damaged parts that may adversely affect safe operation or mechanical strength of the equipment, such as parts that are broken, bent, cut, or deteriorated by corrosion, chemical action, or overheating: (a) Drilling Rig Boiler Building: On or about December 6, 2012 and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards while plugging equipment into an electrical outlet with a broken face plate. (b) Drilling Rig Boiler Building: On or about December 6, 2012 and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards while plugging in an electrical pump used to supply boiler chemicals due to the outer sheathing of the cord broken near the plug end.
