An employee was exposed to fall hazards while installing blocks in between the purlins on the south side of the post frame construction because of the lack of fall protection and the employer did not have a training program for providing fall protection for the employees. b. Employees were exposed to fall hazards while installing fascia boards on the west side of the post frame construction because of the lack of fall protection and the employer did not have a training program for providing fall protection for the employees.

An employee was exposed to fall hazards because the extension ladder located on the south end of the post frame construction did not extend three feet above the eave. The employee was exposed to a fall distance of approximately 13 feet. b. Employees were exposed to fall hazaards because the extension ladder located on the west side of the post frame construction did not extend three feet above the eave. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a. An employee was exposed to a fall hazard while installing purlins on the post frame construction at a height of approximately 13 feet above the ground below due to the lack of a guardrail system, safety net system or personal fall arrest system. b. Employees were exposed to a fall hazard while installing fascia boards on the post frame construction at a height of approximately 13 feet above the ground below due to the lack of a guardrail system, safety net system or personal fall arrest system. THE RAGLAND COMPANIES INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSECTION NUMBER 310800313, CITATION 1, ITEM 2 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON JUNE 19, 2008, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 457 EAST 2050 NORTH ROAD, EDINBURG, ILLINOIS 62531.
