29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a). Worksite located at 803 Pride Ave., Warrensburg, Missouri- Employees were observed working and walking near unprotected sides and edges and were not protected from falling by the use of any means of fall protection.

29 CFR 1926.1053(a)(8): A metal spreader or locking device shall be provided on each stepladder to hold the front and back sections in an open position when the ladder is being used. (a). Worksite located at 803 Pride Ave., Warrensburg, Missouri- Employees were exposed to a fall hazard in that the step ladder being used to access the lower roof to the upper roof structure was being used improperly in that the metal spreader bar was not extended and the ladder was being used as an extension ladder.
