29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: a) In the sanding area - Employee operating double vertical belt sanders (SN 12-10-53, SN12-12-53) was exposed to noise levels of 87.6 dBA for an 8-hour time weighted average, which is equivalent to a dose of 72.18%. This exposure exceeds the Action Level of 85 dBA. Sampling time was 371 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for all unsampled time periods. Employees were not provided with an effective hearing conservation program, on or about 12/19/12. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
