OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):     The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by sharp pieces of PVC piping:    a) Throughout the wood shop area: On December 20, 2012 and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to struck by hazards from sharp pieces of PVC piping in the event of a rupture. Compressed air at approximately 150 psi was being distributed throughout the facility in 3/4 inch schedule 40 PVC piping.       Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard includes but is not limited to: replacing the PVC piping with an appropriate material to transport compressed air or encasing the all of the PVC piping in a shatter resistant material.
