29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress was not located in trench excavations that were 4 feet (1.22m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62m) of lateral travel for employees: a) Jobsite, 147 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, PA: On or before 12/19/12, an employee was using an American aluminum ladder with a working length of 13 feet to exit from an 18 foot deep trench with no other means of egress. The employee was installing 8 inch sewer line in this 20 foot long trench.
