OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees Location: 22 East 38th Street, New York, NY On or about 20 December, 2012 Employer did not ensure that a type A material liftwas not used by employees when moving laundry bins at the hotel. Abatement Note: among other methods one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazards is to: 1) Follow the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) safety code A17.1 (2000), Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators limiting and use by passengers of type A material lift elevators, section 7.5.3.3 and Section 2.16.5.1.1.
