29 CFR 1910.147(d)(2): The machine or equipment was not turned off or shut down using the procedures established for the machine or equipment: The number 35 press was not shut down and locked out during cleaning operations. Rolls at the top of the print-downs had exposed in-running nip points. These rolls are located at the top of each of the print-downs; employees can become caught in the rolls when they are cleaning the press. Abatement note: The employer may elect to install effective machine guarding so that the rolls can be cleaned without locking out the press.
