Cannon Drive, Wilmington, DE - The employee was working in a trench greater than 4 feet which did not have a means of egress for the employee, exposing the employee to an emergency evacuation hazard. The employee was working in a trench, approximately 4 feet by 5 feet and 5 feet 1 inch deep. This violation was observed on or about January 9, 2013.

29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system: a) 67 S. Cannon Drive, Wilmington, DE - The employee was working in an L shaped trench 8 feet by 12 feet at its longest sides approximately 3 feet deep, however, the employee was working in a 2 feet by 2 feet section of the trench which was 5 feet 7 inches deep. The employee was working also in an adjacent trench which was approximately 5 feet by 4 feet and 5 feet 1 inch deep, both trenches were not protected from cave-in hazards. This violation was observed on or about January 9, 2013.
