29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1):     The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):    Worksite located at 2021 N Street, Lincoln, NE:  The employer did not perform any type of personal protective equipment assessment to determine if any hazards were present.  The employees are exposed to multiple types of hazards in which personal protective equipment of some type would be required.  One example would include the amputation hazard presented by the rotating wheels of a motor vehicle as it is entering into a car wash. Employees wash the rims/wheels as the vehicle is entering the wash bay and dry them as they exit.  A second example would involve the possible use of eye protection while applying cleaning products to the vehicles.         Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation.  The documentation should include written verification of abatement, applicable measurements or monitoring results, and photographs or videos which you believe will be helpful.  The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1):     The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative:    Worksite located at 2021 N Street, Lincoln, NE:  The employer has not developed a written program regarding lockout/tag out operations at the site.  This would include specific procedures, periodic reviews, training, and other items as required by the standard.         Abatement certification is required for this violation.  The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii):     Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used:                              Worksite located at 2021 N Street, Lincoln, NE:  The employer failed to provide training as prescribed in the paragraph above in that the employees had not been trained on the hazards of the chemicals that they commonly use including but not limited to Clear Difference Glass Cleaner and Bug Away.
