29 CFR 1960.8(a): 29 CFR 1960.8(a):  The Agency head did not furnish employment and a place of employment to each employee that were free from recognized hazards that caused or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm, in that employees were exposed to fire and smoke inhalation hazards:   a) Britton Elementary School warehouse area  On or about, and at times prior to, January 4, 2013, an employee was allowed to use a battery charger that was not installed and used per the manufacturer's safe operating procedures.  The battery charger was attached to a wooden pallet (combustible material), thus exposing the employee to life safety hazards such as fire and smoke inhalation.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.
