29 CFR 1910.215(d)(1): Wheel(s) on grinding machine(s) were not sounded (ring test) and inspected for damage before mounting and the spindle speed(s) on grinding machine(s) were not checked before mounting to assure that it did not exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel: (a) Roll Shop - #6 Roll Grinder: A ring test was not conducted on the resin bonded 36 inch diameter abrasive wheels prior to mounting them onto the Roll Grinder as determined on January 15, 2013. (b) Roll Shop - #6 Roll Grinder: 36 inch diameter abrasive wheels, rated for 690 RPM, were mounted onto a wheel grinder that had a maximum operating speed of 1040 RPM, as determined on January 15, 2013 ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
