29 CFR 1915.56(b)(2): Welding cable was not free from repair or splices for a minimum distance of 10 feet from the cable end to which the electrode holder was connected. Hull 16: On or about January 9, 2013, and times prior thereto, a welding stinger had a cut to the conductor 64 inches from the electrode holder. This exposed employees to a shock/burn hazard from contacting the conductor while welding.

29 CFR 1915.56(b)(4): When welding cable became worn to the extent of exposing bare conductors, the portion exposed was not protected by means of rubber tape, friction tape, or other equivalent insulation. Hull 16: On or about January 9, 2013, and times prior thereto, the Lincoln welding cable had a cut to the conductor. This exposed employees to a possible shock/burn hazard from incidental contact with the conductor.
