29 CFR 1926.403(i)(2)(i): Except as required or permitted elsewhere in this subpart, live parts of electric equipment operating at 50 volts or more shall be guarded against accidental contact by cabinets or other forms of enclosures. a. In the south/west side of the building, the temporary light cable was spliced with wire nuts without being guarded, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard.

Unless necessary for a use permitted in paragraph (g)(1)(i) of this section, flexible cords and cables shall not be used where run through doorways, windows, or similar openings, except as permitted in paragraph (a)(2)(ii)(1) of this section. a. On the north/east side of the building, the temporary power wire for the building was ran through the window, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard.
