OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputations while placing their hands near the blades while using a gravity fed bread slicer: a) GMB Bread Slicer in Bakery: On January 16, 2013 and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to amputation hazards while pushing / pulling loaves of bread through the blades of the bread slicer. WAL MART STORES, INC. 29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) Retail stock room: On January 16, 2013 and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to getting battery acid in their eyes while charging and unplugging electric pallet jacks (order pickers). The employer did not have an eyewash station or other potable water available for employees to flush their eyes or skin in the event of getting battery acid spashed on them. WAL MART STORES, INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1910.151(C) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 312975394, CITATION NUMBER 01, ITEM NUMBER 001.
