29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l): On January 25, 2013 and at times prior thereto, the employer allowed an employee on tour one to operate an electric pallet jack who had not been provided initial training or evaluation. U.S. POSTAL SERVICE WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1910.178 (l)(1)(i) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 63167, CITATION 1, ITEM 1 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2011 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 7500 WEST ROOSEVEL ROAD, IL. 60130.
