29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, and service rooms shall be kept clean and orderly and in a sanitary condition. WORKSHOP: The surfaces of the electrical equipment, such as (but not limited to) outlets, switches and others had accumulated wood dust that was generated during the operations of woodworking operations with power saws, and they were not kept clean at all times. ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION.

29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes must be free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor. Stairs or a ramp must be provided where the exit route is not substantially level. WORKSHOP: The following exit doors in the shop areas were not kept clear and unobstructed: 1. The Exit door facing south; was blocked with pieces of wood, stool, and tools. 2. The Exit door facing west; was blocked with pieces of lumber. ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION.

29 CFR 1910.213(i)(1): All portions of the saw blade shall be enclosed or guarded, except for the working portion of the blade between the bottom of the guide rolls and the table. Bandsaw wheels shall be fully encased. The outside periphery of the enclosure shall be solid. Solid material used for this purpose shall be of an equivalent strength and firmness. The guard for the portion of the blade between the sliding guide and the upper-saw-wheel guard shall protect the saw blade at the front and outer side. This portion of the guard shall be self-adjusting to raise and lower with the guide. The upper-wheel guard shall be made to conform to the travel of the saw on the wheel. WOKSHOP: The lower blade guard of the Parks vertical bandsaw was slit and cracked. ABATED DURING THE INPSECTION.
