29 CFR 1910.37(b)(2):   Each exit was not clearly visible and marked by a sign reading "Exit":  a)  In the hallway along the west side of the main building (near the spray booths/QC Area), on or about January 31, 2013 and at times prior to, the emergency exit was not marked by a sign reading Exit, resulting in a life safety hazard.  Life Safety Hazard.  Employees located in the spray booths and QC Area use the side exit to access the outdoor waste receptacle.  The exit also serves as an emergency exit discharge for these employees.  An sign was once present over the door; however, it had been damaged or removed at the time of the CSHOs inspection.  There was an increased likelihood of fires in the building due to the extensive use of flammable and combustible liquids.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(5):   Each doorway or passage along an exit access that could be mistaken for an exit was not marked "Not an Exit" or similar designation, or be identified by a sign indicating its actual use (e.g. closet):  a)  In the conference room/reception area, on or about January 31, 2013 and at times prior to, the doorway leading to the production area was incorrectly marked Exit and was along an excess access passage and could be mistaken for an exit, resulting in a life safety hazard.  Life Safety Hazard.  Employees located in the office area of the facility use the improperly marked doorway to access the production area.  This doorway is along an emergency access passage leading to an exit located directly across the room that is properly identified as Exit.  There was an increased likelihood of fires in the building due to the extensive use of flammable and combustible liquids.

29 CFR 1910.107(b)(9):   A clear space of not less than 3 feet on all sides was not kept free from storage or combustible construction:  a)  In the area surrounding the spray booths located in the production area, on January 31, 2013 and at times prior to, shelving and various other materials, were stored adjacent to, and within three feet of the outside of the paint booth, exposing employees to a fire hazard.  Fire Hazard:  Shelving and various other materials were stored either adjacent to or within three feet of the exterior of the spray booths limiting access for cleaning and inspection of combustible dust.
