29 CFR 1926.405(b)(1): Conductors entering boxes, cabinets, or fittings. Conductors entering boxes, cabinets, or fittings shall be protected from abrasion, and openings through which conductors enter shall be effectively closed. Unused openings in cabinets, boxes, and fittings shall also be effectively closed. a) On or about January 31, 2013; at the center of the jobsite, the employer allowed employees to use an electrical outlet box, which had an unused opening that was not effectively closed. Employees used the electrical outlet box to power a hand-held drill.
