Connecticut Ave. / 83rd St., Long Beach Twsp: The employer did not initiate a program for a competent person to conduct frequent and regular inspections of the jobsite, to identify hazards and/or stop the work in the event workers were placed in a hazardous condition. As such, two workers were observed installing roof rafters using the uppermost floor's top plate as the walking /working surface and were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 25 feet to the ground below. Observed on or about 2/05/2013. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
