29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees shall be provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. 202 Mount Hope Ave., Lafayette, LA: On or about February 5, 2013, the employer failed to ensure that employees wore eye protection when using a Paslode pneumatic nail gun (serial #P12700413) and a Makita circular saw (serial #1035917) during framing operations. Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. Exception: When the employer can demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems, the employer shall develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of 1926.502. 202 Mount Hope Ave., Lafayette, LA: On or about February 5, 2013, the employer did not ensure that employees were provided with adequate fall protection. One employee was observed working from a roof approximately 14 ft. above ground. The employee was exposed to a fall hazard.
