29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met: a. On or about 02/07/13, at King's Alley Hotel (King's Alley Mgmt., Inc.), St. Croix, VI. The employer did not develop a written hazard communication program to ensure having material safety data sheets available for the following operations: a. At the laundry area. Employees used and/or handled corrosive products such as Big Man (sodium hydroxide) detergent and other products such as Super Soft (isopropyl alcohol) during laundry operations. b. At hotel rooms bathroom areas. Employees used and/or handled Spartan NABC non-acid disinfectant bathroom cleaner (alcohol ethoxylate) during housekeeping operations. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
