29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Eye and face protective equipment were not used when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury: JOB SITE: 1120 Country Club Road, Saint Charles, MO 63303, at this work site, a worker was observed on the top of the roof of the commercial structure, approximately 10 feet 9 inches, actively installing new roof shingles, operating a pneumatic nail gun without any form of eye or face protection. The worker was exposed to a struck-by hazard.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system: JOB SITE: 1120 Country Club Road, Saint Charles, MO 63303, at this work site, two (2) workers were observed sitting on the edge of the roof, approximately 10 feet 9 inches, actively removing old roof shingle, and were not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. The workers were exposed to a fall hazard.
