29 CFR 1910.263(l)(9)(iii)(a): Failure of any gas pilot did not automatically shut off the fuel supply to the burner. On February 10, 2013, a Blodgett Oven, Model #981, Serial #56898-7, was found to not have a properly functioning pilot system which would automatically shut off the fuel supply to burners in the event of failure. Employees were required to manually introduce an ignition source to the oven to start the oven, exposing employees to potential fire and explosion hazards.
