29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toe boards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) On or about 2/12/2013, employees engaged in roofing on a three story hotel building with an approximate 6:12 roof pitch were not protected by falling from a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. (b) On or about 2/20/2013, employees engaged in roofing on a two story hotel with an approximate 6:12 roof pitch were not protected from falling while traversing from a ladder to the work area on another portion of the roof. Employees walked the peak of one roof before getting to the work area where they could tie into a personal fall arrest system. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
