29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2): Supported scaffold poles, legs, posts, frames, and uprights did not bear on base plates and mud sills or other adequate firm foundation(s): a) Adjustable baseplates were not provided on two pipe scaffolds employees were working on. The scaffolds were two frames high (12 feet tall) and were standing on a platform of unsecured wood planks. Without baseplates the scaffold pipe ends (legs) can go into the gaps between the planks causing the scaffold to tip over or be unstable. Employees were exposed fall hazard, scaffold collapse hazard. Location: 304 Fifth Avenue, New York, N.Y. On or about 9/12/2012 NOTE: BECAUSE THIS ITEM WAS CORRECTED DURING THE INSPECTION THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION NOR DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
