29 CFR 1910.212(a)(5): Exposure of blades. When the periphery of the blades of a fan is less than seven (7) feet above the floor or working level, the blades shall be guarded. The guard shall have openings no larger than one-half (1/2) inch. Basement Store Area - The Trane heater fan blades were guarded with metal material that had openings of one and a half inches. Ellsworth Builders Supply was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212 (a)(5), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314236324, Citation number 1, Item number 5 and was affirmed as a final order on 03/24/2010, with respect to a workplace located at 261 State Street, Ellsworth, Maine.
