The employer provided 4 ft, 6 ft and 8 ft stepladders for carpenter employees to install the 10 ft tall wall framing. The 4 and 6 ft ladders were too short for the job. To enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and to know the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards: a) The employer did not provide training to employees in the safe use of ladders. Employees were exposed to fall hazard when using too short (4 ft) stapladders. Employee stood at the top of the stepladder to reach higher up. Location: 1209 DeKalb Ave, Brooklyn, N.Y.
