29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: On or about February 22, 2013, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not provide and require use of personal protective equipment, such as, chemical resistant gloves, apron, and boots, for employee engaged in plating activities. Employee was exposed to the hazard of chemical burns.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop or implement a written hazard communication program in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1) that would describe or include at least the following: 1) Requirement for labeling of containers of hazardous chemicals; 2) Material safety data sheet availability; 3) Training of employees; 4) A complete list of hazardous chemicals known to be in the workplace; 5) Methods to inform employees of the hazards on non-routine tasks; and 6) Methods to inform other employer(s) of material safety data sheet availability; the labeling system; and any precautionary measures to protect employees. On or about February 22, 2013, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not have a written hazard communication program and had not conducted training for employee exposed to hazardous chemicals including META PLATE-2500-A, META PLATE-2500 B, and META-PLATE-C . Employees were exposed to hazards including burns to the eyes, skin, and respiratory disorders.
