29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1)(ii): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards, based on the mechanical strength and durability, including, for parts designed to enclose and protect other equipment, the adequacy of the protection thus provided: 1.In the maintenance area of the facility the employer is failing to ensure that the water fountain was equipped with a protective shroud, exposing employees to live electrical parts. 2.In the melt storage area of the facility the employer is failing to ensure that the cover used to enclose the 220 volt disconnect did not allow for access to open conductors in that the switch was setback from the cover and 1 inch round opening was present in the front of that cover. Abatement certification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with citation.
