This violation was observed on or about February 28, 2013, at the facility, the employer did not ensure employees performing the change out of the corrosive hazardous chemical Destainer wore the appropriate eye protection exposing employees to the hazards of chemical burns.

29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i): Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employees exposure:     This violation was observed on February 28, 2013, the employer did not select a sharp with engineered sharps injury protections (SESIPs)  such as, but not limited to, shielded, recessed or retractable needles in place of the Kendal Monojet sharp exposing employees to the hazards of being stuck by contaminated needles.
