29 CFR 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii):  Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s):    (a) Classic Door & Millwork, Inc., @ 509 North Link Lane, Fort Collins, CO.  On or before February 28, 2013, the employer did not ensure that the UnderCut Table Saw was equipped with adequate guarding to protect employees from hazards such as those created by In-Running Nip Points (Pinch Points) and incidental contact with the power feed unguarded rollers during operating cycles. This condition exposed employees to an amputation hazard.

On or before February 28, 2013, the employer did not ensure that the chain/sprocket for the power corner(s) on the Wadkin Planer/Par was adequately guarded to protect employees from hazards such as those created by In-Running Nip Points (Pinch Points) on unguarded rotating parts during operating cycles.

CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.    (a)Classic Door & Millwork, Inc., @ 509 North Link Lane, Fort Collins, CO.  On or before February 28, 2013, the employer did not ensure that the compressed air used by employees for cleaning purposes in the Cut-Up Machine Area was reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. operating pressure as required under the standard. This condition exposed employees to the hazard of compressed air embolisms or eye/skin penetration of flying particles.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv) (A): Flexible cords and cables were being used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of the structure:    (a) Classic Door & Millwork, Inc., @ 509 North Link Lane, Fort Collins, CO.  On or before February 28, 2013,  a relocatable power strip, which was secured to a work bench was used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of the structure, to power different woodworking tools such as, but not limited to a portable sander in the Door Frame Dept. This condition exposed the employees to an electrical hazard.    Note: Relocatable power taps are intended to be directly connected to a permanently installed branch circuit receptacle. Relocatable power taps are not intended to be series connected (daisy chained) to other relocatable power taps or to extension cords.   Relocatable power taps are not intended to use at construction sites and similar locations. Relocatable power taps are not intended to be permanently secured to building structures, tables, work benches or similar structures, nor are they to be used as a substitute for fixed wiring of the structure. The cords of relocatable power taps are not intended to be routed through walls, windows, ceiling, floors or similar openings. Relocatable power taps are intended for indoor use to power laboratory equipment, home workshops, home movie lighting controls, musical instrumentation, and to provide outlet receptacles for computers, audio and video equipment, and other equipment.
