29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms or service rooms were not kept clean and orderly or in a sanitary condition. On or about March 1, 2013, the spray booth was not kept clean and orderly, exposing employees to shock and trip hazards. a: The walls of the spray booth were covered with truck bed liner. The breaker panel, extension cords, one powering a light in the booth, and receptacle in the booth were covered with truck bed liner overspray. In the event of an emergency the switches on the breaker panel cannot reliably be flipped due to the truck bed liner overspray buildup. b: Trash from spraying truck bed liners was piled in the corners of the spray booth.. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that the electrical equipment in the booth is protected liner overspray buildup and that the booth is kept clear of debris.

29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(1): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of diisocyanates listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the ceiling concentration of 0.2 mg/m3: On or about March 1, 2013, employees were exposed to air contaminates over the permissible exposure limit, exposing employees to respiratory hazards. The measured exposure to diisocyanates was 1.4 allowable ceiling limit of 0.2 mg/m3. Although the sprayer was wearing a full face tight fitting respirator, engineering controls are the preferred method of hazard abatement to lower exposure. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are not exposed to air contaminates over the permissible exposure limit.
