29 CFR 1910.1000(c): The did not ensure that any substance listed in Table Z-3, in any 8-hour work shift of a 40-hour work week, did not exceed the 8-hour time weighted average limit given for that substance in the table: (a) Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. @ Niles Wellhead 4N-28HZ, Platteville, CO 80651: On and before 3/7/13, the employer did not ensure that employees exposed to respirable silica were below the permissible exposure limit (PEL). An employee, Sand Castle Operator, was sampled for 391 minutes. He was exposed to 40% silica. The calculated PEL for 40% silica is 0.2381 mg/m3. His calculated 8 hour time weighted average was 0.3218 mg/m3. His calculated severity was 1.4 times the PEL. (b) Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. @ Niles Wellhead 4N-28HZ, Platteville, CO 80651: On and before 3/7/13, the employer did not ensure that employees exposed to respirable silica were below the permissible exposure limit (PEL).
