Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fire and explosions: On or about March 7, 2013, employees of Trinidad Drilling were exposed to fire and explosion hazards while working from the monkey board where the auxiliary escape line was not free from obstructions. There was a wire rope crossing over the escape line that would prevent a safe evacuation in the event of a fire and/or an explosion on the drilling rig.

OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: On or about March 7, 2013, and at times prior thereto, employees of Trinidad Drilling were exposed to fall hazards while being hoisted into the derrick by Rotzler hydraulic winches that were not approved for hoisting personnel.
