Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. those systems. a) Gilberto Vazquez, located at worksite on 801 North Main Street in Bowling Green, OH: On or about March 8, 2013, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from a fall hazard approximately 20 feet above the ground. The employees were placing new roofing material on a 10/12 pitched wood-framed residential structure.

The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) Gilberto Vazquez, located at worksite on 801 North Main Street in Bowling Green, OH: On or about March 8, 2013, the employer did not ensure that employees were trained in the proper application of fall protection systems while installing shingles. Employees were exposed to a 20 feet fall height hazard.
