29 CFR 1915.157(a): The employer did not ensure that employees used appropriate hand protection or protective clothing when exposed to hazards such as skin absorption of harmful substances, severe cuts, lacerations, abrasions, punctures, chemical burns, thermal burns, harmful temperature extremes, and sharp objects. USCGC Hickory, On the deck: On or about 3/6/2013 the employer did not ensure that when applying paint to surfaces with hazardous components employees used chemical resistant gloves.
