29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1):     Employees shall be provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents.     On or about March 13,2013, and at times prior thereto, on the west side of the steep roof, the employer did not ensure employees that used pneumatic nail guns were protected by the use of protective eyewear.  The employees actively used the pneumatic nail guns on the day of this inspection while installing roof shingles.  This condition exposed the employees to serious eye injuries.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toe boards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:       On or about March 13, 2013, and at times prior thereto, on a steep roof, the employer did not ensure employees working approximately 15 feet above the unfinished ground used a fall protection system.  Employees on the west side of a steep roof installing shingles wore harnesses that were not attached to a rope grab device or a vertical lifeline attached  to an anchor on the roof.
