OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. At the jobsite located at SEC 17, TWP 17, R34, 2525 FNL, 2100 FEL, Modoc, KS: Employees engaged in drilling activities were exposed to struck-by hazards in that well drilling operations had commenced without vehicles not involved in the immediate rig operation relocated a minimum distance of 100ft (30.5m) from the wellbore or a distance equal to the height of the derrick mast. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to ensure a vehicle parking area is available and utilized a minimum distance of 100ft from the derrick mast in accordance with the recommendation set forth in American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice RP54 Paragraph 6.1.15.
