29 CFR 1910.1000(c): Table Z-3. An employee's exposure to any substance listed in Table Z-3, in any 8-hour work shift of a 40-hour work week, shall not exceed the 8-hour time weighted average limit given for that substance in the table.    a.  On or about 3/13/2013, shop, an employee personal 8-hour time-weighted average (8-Hr TWA) exposure to respirable dust containing 15.3% Crystalline Silica Quartz was 1.158 mg/m3 during fabrication of granite counter tops.  This exposure exceeded the OSHA 8-Hr TWA Crystalline Silica Quartz PEL of 0.579 mg/m3 by 2 times for respirable dust containing 15.3% Crystalline Silica Quartz.  The personal air monitoring consisted of two samples collected during a 151 minute sampling period on 3/13/2013.  The remaining un-sampled time of 329 minutes was included in the 8-Hr TWA as a zero exposure period.            b.  On or about 3/13/2013, shop, an employee personal 8-hour time-weighted average (8-Hr TWA) exposure to respirable dust containing 15.5% Crystalline Silica Quartz was 0.805 mg/m3 during fabrication of granite counter tops.  This exposure exceeded the OSHA 8-Hr TWA Crystalline Silica Quartz PEL of 0.571 mg/m3 by 1.4 times for respirable dust containing 15.5% Crystalline Silica Quartz.  The personal air monitoring consisted of three samples collected during a 450 minute sampling period on 3/13/2013.  The remaining un-sampled time of 30 minutes was included in the 8-Hr TWA as a zero exposure period.
