Emerson Place Subdivison, Lot #21, Lawrenceville, GA - Employees were exposed to a chemical hazard. The employer did not develop and implement a written hazard communication program where employees were exposed to hazardous chemicals/corrosive materials on the jobsite. Employees were using magnolia buff masonry mortar cement mix, which contains crystalline silica and hexavalent chromium, when mixing up the dry concrete cement mix for the brick laying process on the new home, on or about 03/15/13.

The employer did not maintain the safety data sheets for the cement masonry mix that is used on the jobsite for the employees use. Employees were using magnolia buff masonry mortar cement mix, which contains crystalline silica and hexavalent chromium, when mixing up the dry concrete/cement for the brick laying process on the newly constructed home, on or about 03/15/13.

The employer did not provide training on the hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to crystalline silica and hexavalent chromium which are ingredients in the Magnolia buff masonry mortar cement mix that is used at the jobsite for the brick laying process on the newly constructed home, on or about 03/15/13.
