29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(i): Unused openings in boxes, raceways, auxiliary gutters, cabinets, equipment cases, or housings shall be effectively closed to afford protection substantially equivalent to the wall of the equipment. The employer is failing to ensure that employees are protected from electrical hazards. Employees working near or on the power cut-off switch box in the area adjacent to the battery chargers in the freezer hallway are exposed to live parts due to a missing knock-out plug allowing direct access to the live parts inside the box.
