29 CFR 1910.179(g)(1)(v): Pendant control box(es) were not constructed to prevent electrical shock or were not clearly marked for identification of functions: a) Southeast side of Upper Shop, 7 1/2-ton Crane, 300 Sly Street, Luzerne, PA - Employees operated an overhead crane to transport steel beams that did not have identification to mark the functionality of each button. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while operating the pendant control box, on or about March 19, 2013. b) Southeast side of Upper Shop, 5-ton Crane, 300 Sly Street, Luzerne, PA - Employees operated an overhead crane to transport steel beams that was not constructed to prevent electrical shock in that the pendant control box had duct tape covering two lower openings. Employees were potentially exposed to an electrical shock hazard while operating the pendant control box, on or about March 19, 2013. c) Paint Area, Lower Shop, 3-ton Crane, 300 Sly Street, Luzerne, PA - Employees operated an overhead crane to transport steel products that did not have identification to mark the functionality of each button. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while operating the pendant control box, on or about March 19, 2013. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation.

29 CFR 1910.305(a)(2)(x): 29 CFR 1910.305(a)(2)(x): Flexible cords and cables were not protected from accidental damage, as might be caused, for example, by sharp corners, projections, and doorways or other pinch points. a) Southern side of Upper Shop, 300 Sly Street, Luzerne, PA: An energized flexible cord attached to a vertical portable grinder was placed across metal tracks and was unprotected from accidental damage by the wheels of the "Roller" used to transport metal. Employees that used the vertical portable grinder and "Roller" were potentially exposed to an electrical shock hazard in the event the "Roller" wheels damaged the energized flexible cord, on or about March 19, 2013. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation.
